Project Overview
This project is being done as part of the Capital Improvements Plan to improve the pavement surface for all road users, as well as accommodate safe pedestrian access. The project consists of resurfacing the asphalt in the Morningside Neighborhood on the following streets:
- Hillridge Blvd.
- Morningside Dr.
- Pine Tree Dr.
- Westport Rd.
- Wines Dr.
The resurfacing program will also reconfigure the intersection at Westport and Pine Tree to accommodate new pedestrian crossings, as well as fill in the sidewalk gaps at the eastern end of Westport Rd. near Newport Rd.
Work:
- Pavement resurfacing to address existing damage and cracks, along with longitudinal joint repairs
- New pavement markings
- Safety improvements such as intersection reconfiguration and pedestrian crossings
- New sidewalks to fill network gaps
Impacts:
- Traffic delays, lane reductions and other construction traffic signage and changes will be implemented during the construction phase of the project. Detours will be communicated before and during construction.
- Residents in the vicinity will experience noise and dust normally associated with construction.
Funding
- Roadwork is funded by the Street, Bridge, and Sidewalk Millage
- New Sidewalk is funded by the New Sidewalk Millage
