Project Overview

Due to a history of water main breaks, the existing 8" water main, installed during the 1960's, will be replaced with a new 12" water main, which will also be rerouted further from buildings to improve water flow to surrounding properties.

Project Update 10/23/2025:

This Week:

Starting tomorrow (Friday) we are finalizing the prepping for paving that is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 25 AND Monday, Oct 27th. This will limit access to the parking lot until paving is completed. We are hoping to be mostly done by Saturday but given the larger areas we anticipate needed Monday to finish as well. See diagram for areas that will be fenced off. Please note we will have a drive isle by Chase open so that cars can enter through there. Also the back of Westgate can be used as a detour and for parking as well.

Next Week:

All parking lot areas and Maple Road will be open by latest Tuesday, Oct 28th. Minor watermain work will happen on Jackson road on Tuesday. Minor restoration work will occur at Westgate such as pavement markings, turf restoration, cleaning with the goal to be fully completed by the week of Nov 1.

Water interruptions

  • Generally, water service will be maintained with a few exceptions: (1) planned 6-8 hour interruptions when new mains are tied into existing ones which will be proceeded by notification by orange door hangers 24-hours prior, (2) brief 30 minute interruptions when services lines are transferred to the new main which will be preceded by 12-24 hour notice in person.
  • Contractor will do their best to not interrupt business operations, however this will be a case-by-case business. Impacted businesses will be contacted by the project team on this issue.

May 27, 2025 Project Update

Past Work: We completed the watermain installation across Jackson Avenue. We will be working on installing the rest of the watermain in the back, working from north to south.

Current Work: Starting tomorrow(5/28), the north parking lot back entrance by Staples will be blocked temporary (most likely 3 days) while we install the water main in that area. See attached image here.

Due to the tight working space, we ask that ALL cars and any deliveries use the south entrance by the Westgate Library. Our site inspectors can help if there an issue with access to the back area, their contact info is below.
