Project Overview
Resurfacing the asphalt on Packard Street between E. Eisenhower Parkway and Platt Road, as well as updating pavement markings to enhance the comfort and safety of all road users.
Why is this project being done?
As part of the Capital Projects Improvement Plan to improve the pavement surface for all road users.
What work will be done as part of this project?
- Pavement resurfacing to address existing damage and cracks, along with longitudinal joint repairs
- New pavement markings
- All projects are evaluated for Vision Zero safety improvements, including speed management, road rightsizing, and updating pedestrian, bus, and bike facilities.
- Evaluation of a potential new mid-block pedestrian crossing
Cost and funding sources
- Ann Arbor Street Fund
- Federal Buyout Program
During construction:
- Traffic delays, lane reductions and other construction traffic signage and changes might be implemented during phase of the project. Detours, if any, would be communicated during construction.
- Residents in the vicinity will experience noise and dust normally associated with construction.
