Project Overview
The large oak tree in Mushroom Park was removed due to decline and safety concerns. The tree will be reused on site to create a nature play area, similar to the Great Oak Nature Playground near Barton Dam.
Public meeting to be held virtually on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 7 p.m.. The link to the Zoom webinar will be posted here.
- Tree removal took place on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
- Wood will remain on site temporarily—please stay off the tree and stockpiled materials.
- Playground construction anticipated to begin in Spring 2026.
