Why is this project being done?

This is a Capital Improvements Plan project to improve stormwater quality.

How will this be achieved?

• Removing sediment and other natural debris
• Reestablishing a consistent cross section to improve flow
• Installing erosion preventive features and plantings
• Installing in-stream structures to dissipate energy to reduce erosive velocity
• Creating pools within the channel to allow sediment to settle out

Cost and funding

The total project cost in the approved updated Stormwater capital budget is $1,970,000.

The plans will show plan views, cross sections, profiles, and details of the work that includes construction accessibility, tree removals, retaining wall removal, creek cleanout, grading, soil and sedimentation controls, in-stream structures and plantings. All work will be contained in the platted easement for public utilities within the Fair Glen and Liberty Knolls subdivisions.

Normal work hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. Contractor operations beyond those hours, or on Sunday, would only be allowed by the City if there is critical work that needs to be completed outside of normal work times.

The construction work unavoidably generates dust and noise, as well as inconveniences. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during the project.
