Project Overview

The opportunity was presented to evaluate Gladstone Avenue for speed management improvements as part of the scheduled resurfacing.

Why is this project being done?

Speed management improvements are encouraged by Resolution 23-330. Data was collected in 2025. The speeds were higher than desired for a street that went through the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program and had device(s) installed in 2009.

What considerations were taken in developing the Speed Management Plan?

  • Proximity to a school.
  • One of the primary access points to the neighborhood.
  • Distance between devices to maximize speed reduction.
  • Existing utility structures and fire hydrants.
  • Road grade and geometry.

Work to be done

Raised devices will be installed along Gladstone Avenue between Packard and Candlewick to reduce speeds as part of the Annual Street Resurfacing Program.
