Project Overview

The Fuller Park Mixer Playground, built in 1989, has reached the end of its life cycle and is now due for a full replacement. This popular playground is used throughout the year but sees the most use during the summer pool season by pool patrons and campers of the Fuller Pool day camp. The replacement is made possible by a gift of $125,000 from the University of Michigan, which will be supplemented by millage funding.

There are several opportunities for engagement throughout the design process!

  • Public Survey (now closed): The public survey was open for approximately three weeks, from March 6 -31, 2025. This survey gathered feedback from the community about their likes and dislikes of the current playground and their vision for the future. We also had a kid-friendly version of the survey – it is their playground too, after all! 😊

See below for result summaries of the surveys:

  • Concept Designs & Public Meeting: After the survey closes, staff will incorporate the feedback into 2 to 3 concept designs for the playground. These concept designs will then be presented to the community at a public meeting.
  • Final Concept Plan: After the public meeting, a final concept plan will be created.
