Map Legend

Annexation: a process by which a piece of property is released from the jurisdiction of Ann Arbor, Pittsfield or Scio Township and comes under the jurisdiction of the City of Ann Arbor.

Design Review Board: this board no longer exists, but previously served to provide design feedback for new development.

Land Division: any lot, outlot, or other parcel of land in a recorded plat shall not be divided into more than four parts unless the division is in full compliance with the provisions of the State Land Division Act. This is review by staff for approval.

Rezoning: a petition to change a parcel of land from its current zone to a different zone.

Site Plan: includes the documents and drawings required by the Unified Development Code to ensure that a proposed land use or activity is in compliance with local ordinances and state and federal statutes.

Street Vacation: a type of easement in which the city transfers the right-of-way of a public street or alley to a private property owner.

Zoning Board of Appeals: an appeals board that hears and decides questions that arise in the administration of the zoning ordinance, including the interpretation of the zoning maps, text, and variance requests; in this map, it signifies that the petition is awaiting approval to be developed.
