Project Overview

We are asking community members to submit name suggestions for Ann Arbor's newest park at Dexter Rd and Seybold Dr.

Ann Arbor's newest park is being developed in partnership with the Ann Arbor Housing Commission at Dexter Ave and Seybold Dr. The park will have a basketball court and a pavilion, among other amenities. For more information on the project, click here.

The current park name is 2570 Dexter Ave. Park, a generic name based on the default naming convention for all new parks added to the City of Ann Arbor park system. We are asking community members to submit name suggestions, which will be reviewed and considered by the Park Advisory Commission (PAC). A new park name, suggested by the neighborhood, would help better reflect the park’s common identity, represent community values, and demonstrate community ownership.

You can help by submitting a new name through the survey on this page! See below for park name guidelines. The Park Advisory Commission (PAC) will review name suggestions and take them under consideration.

According to the naming policy for City of Ann Arbor parks, parks may be named after:

  1. Geographical, historical or ecological features in or around the park
  2. Individuals in good standing who have been deceased for at least five (5) years and have made a significant contribution to the City of Ann Arbor parks and recreation
  3. Historical events or places
