Project Overview
This project will go to City Council for a final decision.
The proposed project includes the annexation of this site from Scio Township and rezoning to planned unit development for multi-family residential with one building providing 39 affordable housing units on 1.15 acres. The properties to the north and east are used as multi-family residential. To the south and west of the project site is currently the Hansen Nature Area, a city park. The project is located in Ward 5.
The 1146 S Maple / Hickory Way III has the following features:
- A four-story, 39 unit affordable housing apartment building
- Adjacent to the existing Hickory Way I & II apartment buildings, allowing access to tenant services for all three buildings
- Meets National Green Building Standards
- 15% of units will be barrier-free
- Provides 700 square feet of community space within the building

November 7, 2024: City Council approved the annexation.
November 19, 2024: Planning Commission approved the rezoning and the site plan.
